As a Manager, Software Development on the Enterprise Data Management team, you will be leading a team of data engineers working to improve and scale data mastering capabilities. Your work will broaden and enrich the foundational data assets utilized across GHX products and services.

The successful candidate will be an experienced software engineering and data leader who wants to make an impact in healthcare. In this role you'll be focused on building and improving enterprise-level master data management (MDM).

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of data engineers and processes
  • Oversee the development and implementation of innovative and creative solutions
  • Establish development best practices and procedures; identify and resolve problem areas
  • Iteratively improve data mastering, data quality, and data curation

Key Duties

  • Lead the team while also contributing directly to architecture and design of data solutions
  • Own the management of infrastructure and deployment strategy for GHX's MDM solution
  • Partner with engineering, product, and operations stakeholders as part of agile development processes
  • Assess risks and dependencies and identify mitigation strategies
  • Manage and coordinate technical dependencies with other teams
  • Hire, train, guide, and coach team members

  • Ability to mentor developers and contribute constructive code review
  • Ability to communicate with audiences of different technical backgrounds and collaborate across multiple teams

Required Education, Certifications, and Experience

  • Experience leading teams of software or data engineers
  • Experience with MDM solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing offshore development teams
  • Familiarity with data governance solutions and best practices
  • Experience with Snowflake
  • Experience building and maintaining production systems within the AWS ecosystem

This is a remote role, however, if you reside near one of our offices (Chicago, Denver and Omaha) then you are welcome to join the team onsite in a hybrid capacity if you so choose.

Estimated salary range for this position: $118,200-$157,550


The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of GHX's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards and benefits include: health, vision, and dental insurance, accident and life insurance, 401k matching, paid-time off, and education reimbursement, to name a few.
